About Me
My name is Kathryn Rabon and I am from Camden, South Carolina. I am graduating from Clemson University in May of 2024 with a double major in English and Language and International Health (LIH). My language emphasis is French and I am incredibly thankful for this unique degree combination which has allowed me to develop a unique perspective and versatility as a student and future professional. After graduation, I am planning to continue my education by pursuing a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at MGH Institute of Health Professions.
I began my first year at Clemson as an English major with a French minor, for I have always been intrigued by languages and communication. I chose to pursue a secondary major after discovering the LIH degree because it would allow me to pursue an interdisciplinary education which would give me the space for individual academic exploration and provide me with intellectual and professional challenges. My dedication and enthusiasm for learning has fueled my ambition and has guided me through my four years at Clemson. The variety of courses I have taken have exposed me to a plethora of ideas, didactic strategies, and interpersonal relationships which have impacted me significantly and changed my perspectives inside and outside of the classroom.
My out-of-classroom experiences in various teaching assistant positions have allowed me to express my passion for learning and utilize my drive in a manner that serves others. I have learned the importance of flexibility and proactivity, and am consistently thankful for my major combination and its versatility. My study abroad experience, detailed more deeply on the following page, allowed me to apply classroom knowledge to the real world, exercise cultural humility, and develop a new perspective in regards to my future and my ties to Europe.
The four years I have spent as a Clemson student have been incredibly transformative. While this site captures only a snapshot of my time and growth, I feel as if it represents the excitement I have felt, and will continue to carry into the next step of my educational career.
