Experiences at Clemson

While it is difficult to attempt to capture each important moment and experience I have had during my four years at Clemson, I wanted to use this space to showcase some of the activities, and memberships, and awards that I found to be the most impactful upon my personal and professional development.

Beta Theta Chapter of Delta Delta Delta

I have been a TriDelta member since August of 2020. This sorority has had major impacts on my experience at Clemson-it provided an introduction to many of my best friends and roommates during a freshman year skewed by COVID-19, opportunities to get involved in philanthropic efforts for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and consistent social events which encouraged friendships that will last long after my time at Clemson has ended.

Undergraduate Laboratory Assistant for Anatomy and Physiology

In the fall of 2023, I was asked to serve as an Undergraduate Laboratory Assistant for the Clemson Anatomy and Physiology Lab by the course instructor. I spent the semester teaching two lab sections per week alongside graduate students. This experience aided in the development of many professional interpersonal skills and helped guide me through the graduate school application process, since it served as a weekly reminder for my passion and interest regarding human anatomy. I feel significantly more prepared to begin my graduate school education after being a ULA, and will be carrying what I learned into my next chapter.

2024 Recipient of the Phi Kappa Phi Certificate of Merit

I was honored to be nominated as the English department's representative for this year's Phi Kappa Phi Certificate of Merit, which is awarded to one senior in the College of Arts and Humanities each year. The award is based on academic merit, and nomination required the preparation and submission of a dossier which included letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a portfolio of my work. Being chosen as this year's recipient is one of my proudest accomplishments as a Clemson student.

Server and Concierge at Everlan of Clemson

I have been employed part-time at Everlan of Clemson since May of 2022. Everlan is an independent living facility with approximately 65 residents. My duties differ every day, but I typically aid the residents during and after meal times and have learned so much from my work. Most importantly, it helped me realize my desire to work with this population once I become a certified speech language pathologist upon completion of my Master's, and the importance of giving each individual the treatments they need in order to maintain the best quality of life possible.
