Culture artifacts

I collaborated with two other students to create this project for our French Civilization course. We decided to focus on religious changes in early France, beginning with the Gauls. This project necessitated communication with my group mates and a willingness to compromise. It challenged us to utilize various cultural research methods that would provide the information we desired to cover. It opened my eyes to relatively unexplored historical aspects of French society and deepened my understanding of the history of the culture itself; I believe this prepared me for my semester abroad.

This research-based paper was written at the conclusion of my semester in Montpellier, for a course concerning the history of French television. I was able to choose a topic of interest and compared the historical and cultural developments in relation to television in France and in the United States in the 1980s and 1990s. Since the paper was extensive, the research and writing processes required dedication. This self-guided assignment provided me with the opportunity to explore a time period of significant cultural and technological developments in the United States and in France and utilize research and writing techniques in this area of personal interest.
